Branch President Bulger    President’s Christmas message:

Shipmates, I just wanted to touch base with every member of Branch 104 at this time, our newsletter is a very important avenue of communication. Especially when events transpire that should mean something to all of us. Sometime in mid-January I will have to turn over my job as President to “John” Johnson, since he is the Jr. Past President. I am moving down to Tilliamook, Oregon, but I intend to remain a member here. PNP Johnson wishes to be relieved upon the next elections which will be at the May General Meeting.

There are no special qualifications to be a President, all the procedures to follow are covered in our National Constitution & By-laws, (the red book). Our regular members who come to the meetings are dedicated enough and experienced at how it goes to keep our Branch on track as another year approaches. I have done my best to visit our bereaved families, pay tribute to our long-term members with lapel pins and certificates. I would hope that this sort of thing will be continued, as well as recognizing birthdays and any new members.

At this time, I’d like to mention that our branch is poised to merge with Olympia Branch 191, we are already finding willing Shipmates who wish to transfer to Branch 104. Thus, we are mailing this issue of the newsletter to all of Branch 191 members to allow them to learn about us. They’ll find out about our website and the location of our monthly meetings. Welcome aboard to all of these Shipmates, only two of them live out of the State of Washington.

I wish each and every Branch 104 family good health, good friendships and a Happy New Year in 2010. Please remember to thank our current military personnel as they pass through your little sector of the country. They have a much rougher time with operations on two fronts, the terrain is very difficult and so are the so-called leaders in Iraqc and Afghanistan. There will come a time when they are on their own. And we will have our heroic military on our land, which they so deserve.

In Loyalty, Protection, and Service,
Shipmate Tom Bulger, Branch President
